Recommended Books on Gem Stones and Crystals

The Book of Stones:
Who They Are & What They Teach

by Robert Simmons and Naisa Ahsian

This book was released in October 2005. It has now become my new crystal “bible”. I highly recommend this one. If there is just one book you can buy, this in depth guide to the world of crystals and gemstones should be the one. Each stone description is accompanied by a color photo. Both authors give clear and easy to understand information about the stones. A must for the beginner or advanced gemstone lover. If you are looking for the latest informational book on stones, this is it!

Stones Alive!
by Marilyn and Thomas Twintreess

One of the best parts about buying and selling gems and minerals is meeting others who love the stones. Marylin and Tohmas are two very special stone lovers! I always enjoy my visits with them. It is a real treat to explore the energies of the wonderful stones they have for sale. Their approach to the stones comes from a very loving and honest place. These books offers insight into combining gemstone energies.

The Illustrated Guide to Crystals & Gemstones
by Judy Hall

This is a fun and practical book. A great book for beginners. If you are wondering what to do with the stones you already own, this book can give you some ideas on how to use them. It has nice photos too.

Love is in the Earth:
A Kaleidoscope of Crystals

by Melody

Melody has been a pioneer in writing encyclopedia style books on the metaphysical properties of gemstones. For many years I considered her reference book the”Bible“ and a must have for any gemstone collector. It is extremely comprehensive; listing many hard to find and unusual stones.

Love is in the Earth:
Mineralogical Pictorial

by Melody.

This book makes a nice companion to the one above. It has very nice photos of the stones.
