Spirals of Light is a gemstone jewelry company that I started in 1994. We specialize in Chakra jewelry, Yoga jewelry, Healing jewelry and sell high quality Crystals and Gemstones. I also teach classes on how to use crystals and gemstones in everyday life as well as offer consultations and crystal readings. Working with stones has been my passion for the past 20 years. I developed my chakra and yoga jewelry lines as a way to help me maintain my own yoga and meditation practice. The Colors Of The Heart
The colors Pink and Green are most often associated with Love and the Heart Chakra. When I designed my line of Gemstone Chakra Bracelets, I chose the stones Green Aventurine and Pink Rose Quartz to create a Heart opening and balancing chakra bracelet.
The color Pink emits a soft loving quality to heal the heart of emotional hurts and wounds. Pink Rose Quartz offers us a soft gentle vibration and speaks to us about Love. Love on all level’s. Love for one’s self, one’s life partner, children, friends, community, the Earth and the Divine.

Pink & Green Tourmaline Heart Opening Gemstones
I love it when my Yoga Practice inspires a necklaces design. The other day I was practicing some Heart Opening Yoga poses. I was moving into a pose called “the Camel”. Reaching back to touch my feet, I could feel the stretch in my body and spontaneous began to focus on the healing energies of pink and green Tourmaline.
When my yoga practice was finished I went into my bead studio and found a stunning Tourmaline Pendant. It had both the green and pink Tourmaline stones. Next I found a strand of faceted multi-color Tourmalines to string the heart opening pendant onto. Both pink and green Tourmaline are known as Heart Chakra Stones. Tourmaline has a soothing energy for the heart and can facilitate forgiveness and emotional healing.

Fuchsite Connects Us To The Nature Spirits
Fuchsite, a sparkly Heart Chakra Stone is closely connected to the Nature Spirits and Fairy Realm. After holding raw, unpolished Fuchsite you will be left with “fairy dust” in your hand. These small particles of Fuchsite closely resemble mica, because Fuchsite is a form of Mica or Muscovite. It gets its green color from the mineral Chromium. Because of its close relationship to the Nature Elements it is a wonderful stone for Holistic Healers, Shamans, Herbalists or anyone who loves to work in the garden or with nature. Falling In Love With Rose Quartz- A Heart Chakra Meditation
Over the past several weeks I immersed myself in heart chakra stones. I wanted to put together a collection of Heart Chakra jewerly as part of my Valentine’s day jewelry sale. I took out all of my pink gemstone beads and began designing Heart opening necklaces. The more I worked with Rose Quartz the more I feel in love with this stone all over again. All pink and green stones are Heart Chakra stones. There are many pink and green gemstones in the mineral kingdom and I have a vast collection of these heart stones. It is easy to over look the lovely soft Rose Quartz. As I worked with Rose Quartz I began to connect once again to its amazing energies.

Garnet- Birthstone for January
Vibrant, rich, red. Those words describe January’s birthstone: Red Garnet. Garnets are found in many colors including red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, brown, black, pink and colorless. The rarest of these is the blue Garnet. The Red Garnet is the most common and known as the birthstone for January as adopted by the American National Association of Jewelers in 1912. Garnets were used ever since the Bronze Age. They were used in Ancient Egypt. They were also found in ancient Greece and Roman civilizations. Even today, Garnets are still a popular and much loved gemstone.
Garnets are known as a feminine energy stone. Over my 20 plus years of selling stones, I have witnessed over and over the strong appeal Garnet holds for women. Some women just seemed drawn to its feminine energies and find it difficult to wear any other stone but Garnet!

Yoga Love
Rose Quartz is perhaps one of the best known gemstones in the crystal world. Commonly known as the “stone of love.” I’ve been placing a Rose Quartz heart by my Yoga mat for the past week, in honor of Valentine’s Day. It helps me put my focus on heart opening yoga poses. Asanas like, cobra pose, cat pose, upward facing dog and bridge pose. At the end of my yoga sessions I sit and meditate with Rose Quartz and listen to its gifts.
Rose Quartz first and foremost reminds us to love ourselves. Each day when I get on my mat I am demonstrating this self love. I bring self acceptance to the mat when I feel the tightness in my muscles, and forgive the places in my body where it is difficult for me to stretch further. We often distance ourselves from self love when we feel un-entitled to it, or less than, or unworthy, or even guilty. >> Continue reading
