Chakra Balancing Program-Day 1, Root Chakra

Day One: The Root Chakra – 1st Chakra. Use Chakra Spray “Power & Vitality” if you have it.

Root Chakra Spray

This Chakra is known as the Root, Base or 1st Chakra. It is referred to as Muladhara in Sanskrit. Color: Red or Black. Stones used in this spray are Garnet and Hematite. Essential oils used in this spray are, Cedarwood, Patchouli, Orange.
The Root Chakra is located at the base of the spine. This energy center is the place of physical strength, energy and vitality. This is where we feel balanced as we walk on the Earth. It is the place of survival, and how we are connected and grounded to the Earth.
The Root Chakra has to do with our connection to the material plane. The Root Chakra is where your feelings about money and prosperity come from. We need to have a good foundation in which to move from. Just like any building or physical structure, we too need to be firmly rooted in our foundation. The Root Chakra is the base on which the rest of the chakras are built upon.
If you have a need to feel your connection to the material plane, have issues related to survival in the physical world or need energy and vitality these are Root Chakra issues.
 People who have trouble focusing on the task at hand, studying or paying attention may have a blocked 1st Chakra. The physical connection to this Chakra: Kidneys, blood, legs, feet, bones.
If you have the 1st Chakra Spray use it to help keep you grounded and focused.
Begin by finding a quiet comfortable place where you won’t be disturbed. You can light a candle to set sacred space. Listening to some quiet, soothing music can also help set the tone for your Chakra Balancing session. Close your eyes and spray the Chakra Spray at the top your head several times, allowing the mist to gently flow down your body. Breathe in the pure aroma of the mist. Now, still with your eyes closed, visualize the color red. See before you a beautiful ball of brilliant red light. Hold the color red in your mind’s eye for several minutes. Now, see this red light flowing all around your body. You are being bathed in bright, deep red vibration of light. Open your eyes and check in with yourself. How do you feel?
Now mist yourself again with the spray, this time direct the mist to your feet and legs. As you do this, visualize strong roots growing out from your feet into the ground beneath you. Imagine yourself as a tall tree, securely planted on Mother Earth. Stay with this visualization for several minutes.
Now, try walking around the room or space you are in. Feel your feet as you take each step. Put your attention only on your feet as you move around the room. Do this for several minutes as you feel yourself fully in the present moment. This is a wonderful exercise to come back to throughout the day, when you begin to feel scattered or spacey, just spray yourself with the 1st the Chakra Spray, breathe in and feel your connection to the Earth.
Affirmations of the Day: Say these affirmations while you spray yourself one last time before going on with your day. Remember to take your Root Chakra Spray with you, so you can use it throughout the day. I am centered and grounded. I feel the power in the connection to the ground I walk upon. I am supported in all I do today.
You may want to wear the color red today or keep something red on your desk or altar. Try wearing jewelry  made with Red Garnet or Hemaitie.
Choose to eat foods that are red. Apples or beets would be great choices.
At the end of the day, pick up your journal and write about your experiences focusing on the Root Chakra. Did you feel focused and grounded today? Did you come back to any of the visualizations and what effect did they have on you? Were you able to stay focused as you went about your day? How would you rate your energy level today?
Before going to sleep, spray your bed, pillow and bedroom and breathe in the aroma of the Root Chakra as you sleep

7 Day Chakra Balancing Program- Overview

Welcome to the Spirals of Light 7 day program to balance, activate and energize your chakras.

Each day we will explore one of the 7 Chakras and learn how to bring that Chakra into balance. This program is based upon my Aromatherapy Gemstone Infused Chakra Sprays which were created to increase the quality of your health, body, mind and spirit. But even if you don’t have the Chakra Sprays you can still follow along with the program. For more information on the Aromatherapy Chakra Sprays please see my web site.
The intention of this program is to help you improve the function of your chakras by restoring the flow of energy to each Chakra, bringing balance and well-being to your entire body.
You can begin this program on any day of the week. Start whenever you like. This program was designed to be used for 7 seven consecutive days. You may repeat it any time you desire, or choose to take 7 weeks and work with each chakra for an entire week. This is a great way to come to know the chakra energy system.
Lets first take a look at what Chakras are. Chakras are spinning vortexes of energy. The word Chakra comes from the ancient Sanskrit and translates as wheel. If you imagine a wheel of luminous colored energy, pulsating, spinning and vibrating, you’ll have a pretty good idea of what a Chakra is. Chakras aren’t something you can see with the eye. They form our subtle body. There are seven main chakras and they each have a specific function in our lives. When any one of these 7 Chakras are out of balance it can affect us physically, mentally, emotionally or spiritually. Energy flows into the Chakras two ways. Firstly, upward from the base of our spine, through the Root Chakra, and secondly, from above, entering our Crown Chakra, and flowing down the Chakras. When Chakras along the path are blocked, energy is prevented from flowing to the rest of the Chakras. When all of the Chakras are open and balanced we feel a sense of well being on all levels. Each Chakra corresponds to a physical, emotional, mental or spiritual aspect of ourselves. Each Chakra has a different color, sound, symbol and gemstones that relates to the specific Chakra.
Its best to do these chakra balancing exercises first thing in the morning before you go off on your busy day. Remember to drink lots of pure water as you go through this program. I suggest you keep a journal or notebook to record your success. It can help keep you focused and record how you are feeling each day. This is a program of self reflection and introspection, along with lots of fun! So pick up that note book and Lets Begin!
Write down why you have decided to follow this 7 day program. It all begins with intention. What is your intention? Of course it’s to balance your chakras, but go deeper. How would you like to be feeling when this program is finished? What changes would you like to see in yourself, physically, mentally spiritually, emotionally? Take a few minutes to write down what comes to you. This will be very helpful at the end of the 7 days. We’ll be doing some writing each day, but for right now write about your over all feelings of well being, or lack of. Keep it short, a few paragraphs will be plenty.

The Spirals of Light Chakra Sprays combine Essential Oils, Gemstones and energetic Reiki programming to create a unique and powerful Healing Program.
Aromatherapy is the use of pure essential oils. These oils are the volatile oils found in plants, flowers, bark, roots, seeds, and resins. Essential oils are referred to as the ” essence” of the plant. These oils are the life force of the plants and have many beneficial and protective properties. Essential oils are filled with living, pulsating vibrations. This is why aromatherapy, like gemstone therapy, is a form of Energy Medicine.
Essential oils have been used throughout time. There are records left by ancient Egyptians depicting the use of essential oils. My New Year’s Crystal Ritual

I stopped making New Year’s resolutions years ago. They just don’t work well for me. We begin the New Year filled with hope and make resolutions we know we won’t or can’t keep. New Years resolutions have always felt more like an empty wish than setting a true goal or intention.
What I love to do however are New Year Rituals. There is such power in a ritual, creating a sacred space filled with symbolism and intention.
A ritual can be as simple as stopping for a moment of silence and prayer before we eat our food. Or taking a moment to light a candle and offer out a blessing to someone we love. Or sending out gratitude to the new day as the sun rises to greet us each morning. Some rituals are steeped in spiritual tradition, carried out by many who came before us.
The power of ritual lies in taking the time to reflect and create a moment of sacredness.

The time around the New Year can be a powerful time for introspection and taking a pause to examine your life. It’s so easy to get distracted by life and loose our connection to our deeper purpose.

I enjoy using Crystals in my New Year’s ritual. Before I begin, I light a candle and create a  space for quiet inner reflection. I begin by reflecting on the past year. I start by asking myself questions.
What was my biggest success of the year?
What was my biggest upset?
What was the biggest surprise?
These kinds of questions allow me to take a good look at the positives and the negatives of the year.
I place a quartz crystal in my hands and allow all the thoughts that no longer serve me to pass into the crystal. Placing unwanted worries, and feelings into the stone helps me to rid them from my body, mind and spirit. Once this process feels complete, (I can usually sense a feeling of relief, a lightness from within), I bury the crystal in the ground, giving it much thanks for taking all that no longer serves me.

I choose a 2nd crystal and hold it in my hands. Now I think about all the good things in my life, letting these feeling pour out into the stone. I visualize all that I would like to have, not just things, but feelings too, the wonderful feelings I get by being in nature, the creativity I feel when designing jewelry, the quiet and peace that comes from my yoga practice. I allow as much time as I need to conjure up all the things that are positive, all the things I want to welcome into the new year.

I  thank the stone for allowing me to place my energies within it. I keep this stone close to me, near my bedside, so each day when I wake up and each night before I go to sleep, it is there as a reminder for me, holding  positive energy for me. This simple ritual with the crystals lightens my burdens and uplifts me into a place of well being, a place of hope that all things are possible. This is what I take into the New Year.

Auralite, a Stone of Balance and Blessings

I discovered a new powerful healing stone at this year’s Denver Gem Show, Auralite-23. At first glance this gemstone looks like shards of Amethyst and could easily be overlooked as just another form of Amethyst. Once I held the stone I could sense it was much more.  Auralite contains many minerals as many as 23 different minerals, thus its name Auralite-23.

The crystals themselves are structured layers of phantom chevrons composed of, Amethyst, Citrine and a rare form of metamicted green quartz. The minerals these stones contain reportedly include Titanite, Cacoxenite, Lepidocrosite, Ajoite, Hematite, Magnetite, Pyrite, Goethite, Pyrolusite, Gold, Silver, Platinum, Nickel, Copper, Iron, Limonite, Sphalerite, Covellite, Chalcopyrite, Gialite, Epidote, Bornite and Rutile.

Auralite-23 crystals are about 1.2 billion years old, and are now hand mined in the Boreal forest of the Canadian Shield, far north of Lake Superior. These natural crystals were formed during the Meso-proterozoic age, at the time when multicellular creatures first emerged and began to flourish. It is thought that meteors hit the earth and these  impacts brought rare metallic ores to the surface, where they eventually dissolved and were incorporated into the growing Auralite crystal.

For those of you familiar with the stone Super Seven, you will notice a similar appearance and energy, yet because Auralite contains more minerals than Super Seven, it is even stronger. Auralite-23 is a powerful blending and balancing of energies.

It is said that Auralite can help with sleep disorders and brings one into a state of deep rest and peace. I found that while feeling a very strong  energy coming from this stone, I also felt a deep sense of calmness and contentment. Once I allowed myself to really connect with this stone, I felt that it could provide a real benefit to those who hold it and now offer it for sale on my web site.

Ventifactos, also known as Bell Stones from Argentina

Here are some really interesting stones! Ventifactos, also known as Bell Stones are from Argentina. They are a recent discovery made by one of my long time Crystal Dealers, who personally hand picks these unique forms of Basalt. These black stones are  naturally sculpted by the wind and sand. They are volcanic Basalt, containing, Iron, Nickle and Titanium. Each one is uniquely shaped.

During my recent buying trip to the Denver Gem Show, I popped into Seann’s room to discover these exciting new stones. I was immediately intrigued by these unusual black stones. As Seann explained to me where and how these volcanic stones are found, I became even more interested in them. Then he picked up a pair and struck them together. When hit together they make a clean, deep tone, that resonated all throughout my body. This sound is described as primeval music which naturally supports healing energy and brings all the chakras into balance. It is for this “musical” quality that these stones are also called Bell Stones.

I couldn’t help but run my fingers along their smooth shapes. They felt very calming and grounding to me. I decided to bring some back and introduce them to my crystal loving clients and friends. I’m still exploring my set, but I feel they can offer a very deep healing, if one is willing to look within from a safe and nurturing place. The energy of these stones can provide stability while moving through change and transformation.
They are fascinating formations and are sold in a set, with one long stone and one smaller stone as the striker. They are available on my web site for a limited time.

Denver Gem Show 2012 Part Two: the unpacking

This year’s Denver Gem Show was another fabulous year, with all of the same dealers and several new ones to explore. I found some great new stones this year, which always makes the show worth going to. I never know just what l’ll find or what will entice me. This year was no exception in fine quality crystals, gemstones, minerals, beads and jewelry. I came home with boxes and boxes of glorious new treasures from Mother Earth.

 

It takes days and days to unpack all the new stones. This year I set up several tables outdoors on my deck and laid out and unpacked all the goodies. The stones enjoy being outside in the sunlight, and so do I. It’s a slow process, sorting, organizing, pricing and admiring these natural beauties. So many of the new stones are from countries all around the world. They come packed in newspapers from their country of origin. Too bad I don’t read Portuguese as many of my new Quartz Crystals came from Brazil. It’s so funny to try and read the advertisements.

The rest will be sold at Crystal Classes, Trunk Shows and my own showroom in Big Pine Key, FL. The yummy gemstone beads will be incorporated into jewelry designs, many of which are one of a kind.

This year’s acquisition includes some old favorites- all sizes and forms of Amethyst. Everyone loves Amethyst and it is a must have stone. This year I purchased a nice size table top Amethyst Cathedral along with small deep purple Amethyst Clusters and single points. I re-stocked Selenite, a favorite for melting away blockages. I found several beautiful Crystal Balls, one has a small crystal growing inside of it. Very special indeed. I found lots of different stone massage wands, wonderful for relieving tension. The bead list includes yummy purple Sugilite, Sunstone, Moonstone, Larimar, Turquoise, Seraphinite, Kyanite and so many more.

There were several brand new stones added to my collection this year. Some very special healing stones which I hope to write articles on as soon as I get them ready for sale. Stay tuned for information on Ventifactos, (also known as Bell Stones), White Moldavite, Auralite and Shungite from Russia.

From large to the very small, each stone is hand chosen with love and care. With so many stones to look at, it is a labor of love to hand pick each stone. I saw a bumper sticker on a car this year that said, “Rockalcoholic.” I think that fits me. I can hardly wait to next year’s show!

Denver Gem Show 2012-Part one: the anticipation.

The Denver Gem Show, held every year in mid- September is the 2nd largest Gem Show in the US. Second to the grand daddy of all shows which takes over the city of Tucson AZ. every winter. Denver’s Show features many of the same international gem dealers. The Denver Gem Show is really 5 shows in one, held at several different venues throughout north Denver. Several of the shows are only open to dealers, you must have a re-sale liscense to attend, while others are open to the general public.

I’ve been attending this show for the past 15 years and have watched it grow in size with dealers from around the world and new shows added. I prepare for this show months in advance with much anticipation. I feel just like a little kid waiting for Christmas before the show rolls around. I begin making lists of what I’ll need to purchase weeks ahead of time as this is my big buying show of the year. I prefer to purchase my healing crystals, stones and gemstone beads used in my jewelry designs at this show, where I can hand select the strands of beads that will be used in my Yoga, Chakra and other jewelry lines. This way I can be sure of the quality of the beads and crystals I’m purchasing.

Because I’ve been going to these shows for so long, I’ve developed personal relationships with many of the dealers. Its a great way to visit with each other and catch up on all the news in the Gem World. Often they will share photos of new mines that are producing amazing stones from around the world and introduce me to many new crystals and gemstones, some just coming to market for the very first time. I’m always delighted to see what’s new in the Mineral Kingdom.

The 45th Annual Denver Gem and Mineral Show September 14 – 16, 2012, held at the Denver Merchandie Mart is open to the public. Every year this show features many fine educational programs, displays and exhibits, along with show cases of the finest quality mineral specimens from around the world. Viewing these exhibits is like taking a stroll into a world class rock museum. Its always worth a trip to visit these amazing displays. This year they’re featuring Copper and Copper Minerals. This year I’ll be getting a “jump start” on the shows. I arrive on the 9th, a few days  before the official start of the show’s opening on the 12th.  They say, “the early bird catches the worm”.
