Spirals of Light is a gemstone jewelry company that I started in 1994. We specialize in Chakra jewelry, Yoga jewelry, Healing jewelry and sell high quality Crystals and Gemstones. I also teach classes on how to use crystals and gemstones in everyday life as well as offer consultations and crystal readings. Working with stones has been my passion for the past 20 years. I developed my chakra and yoga jewelry lines as a way to help me maintain my own yoga and meditation practice. Healing Benefits Of Wearing Copper
In an economy where just a few dollars can make the difference in a purchase, I’m looking into ways to keep the prices of my jewelry affordable. The cost of sterling silver is rising each day. I’ve always used sterling in my jewelry designs, but now I’m faced with the reality that the current silver prices will effect the cost of my jewelry. I have to raise prices as my costs continue rise.
The good news is, I’ am exploring different options in metals. I’ve recently been using more copper in my designs. This lead to a search on the healing benefits of copper. More good news, copper is a very beneficial metal to wear for healing. Copper has long been used for its healing properties.

The Good Vibrations of Larimar
When I think of one stone that represents the feelings of summer its Larimar. Larimar is the quintessential summer gemstone. Remember those times when you were a kid, with nothing to do on a hot summer’s day? You’d lay on the freshly mowed lawn and look up at the sky. Hours could pass as you watched the clouds roll by, imagining the puffy white shapes to be all sorts of creatures. There you are without a care in the world, no concerns about time, just being, in the present moment. That’s the vibrational quality of Larimar.
Larimar is a stone of peaceful tranquility. Its a very soothing and serene stone. Larimar’s energy is calming. It can help reduce excessive fear or anger with its cooling energies. How to Choose Chakra Jewelry
I’ve been making Chakra Jewelry since 1994. Over these many years, I’ve often been asked “How do I choose a Chakra Bracelet. How do I know which one I need? Which one is best for me?”
Sometimes the answer is our Chakra Stones bracelet. This bracelet covers all the Chakras and helps balance each energy center. But, often if we just take a minute to tune into ourselves, by going inwards, to our center, taking a few deep breaths, we can discern for ourselves which Chakra is calling out for balancing.
If you feel drawn to a particular color this can be an indication. Are you finding yourself wearing more blues or greens? Do you go to your clothes closet pick out a piece of clothing, only to put it back and choose something totally different than what you had planned?

Removing Obstacles with Ganesh & Kyanite
The New Year offers us a chance to bring our dreams, desires and wishes into our lives. But sometimes we run into problems manifesting new year intentions because we first have to move around the obstacles standing in the way. Those obstacles can often be our emotions or thought patterns. If we take our old automatic responses with us into the year will anything really change? The first few weeks of the New Year offer us a wonderful opportunity to examine the thoughts that are holding us back from achieving what we are wishing for. Take a close look at the obstacles that stand in you way. What behavior or thought is preventing you from achieving the things you desire?
I find calling on Ganesh the Hindu elephant-headed god can help me move forward around the obstacles or hindrances in my life. Ganesh ( Ganesha. Ganeshe) is the Lord of successes and the destroyer of evils and obstacles.

Surround Yourself In Nature’s Radiant Beauty
I love it when a walk in nature inspires a creative jewelry idea.
I try to get outside everyday for a walk in the sunshine. My little Jack Russell Terrier is a good excuse to get outdoors and get some exercise. She enjoys her freedom off leash roaming in the woods and I enjoy some quiet time in nature.About a month ago I was taking a walk in the woods with my dog near my summer home in southwest Colorado. I was on a familiar trail, one I often take. I don’t know what is was that particular day, that caused me to focus on the magnificent Ponderosa fir trees. I stood in front of these tall, straight, solid sentinels and felt such appreciation for their majestic beauty. As I walked along feeling grateful for the day and these beautiful trees, I begin to imagine which gemstones these trees represented to me.

Moldavite- ” The Stone That Fell From The Sky”
Of all the different gemstones I have worked with over the past 20 years, Moldavite is the one that has shown me the most dramatic responses from those who hold it. I have witness many first time encounters with Moldavite. What I have noticed when someone is new to the energies of Moldavite is a strong reaction to the stone. Sometimes to the point of the person throwing the stone down as if they can no longer be near its vibration. Sometimes the opposite happens and a person can not let go of the stone because it feels so good, so familiar. Rarely is there no response from Moldavite. One of the more common responses from someone who holds Moldavite for the first time is the experience of warmth or heat, usually felt in the hand then felt throughout the body like a wave. >> Continue reading
Shamanite: A Newly Discovered Stone
Shamanite is a rare Black Calcite from the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. I was first introduced to Shamanite by my friend Charlie Mark from Florida of Mountain Mark Trading. Charlie is the world distributor for North American Black Calcite now known as Shamanite. I have been buying stones from Charlie for more than 16 years. Charlie is a distributor for the beautiful blue gemstone Larimar. So when Charlie contacted me that he would be selling the Shamanite at this years Denver Gem & Mineral show, I made sure I visited his booth and purchased a few rough polished pieces he had for sale.
Shamanite was recently discovered (2005) on privately-owned remote alpine property in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. After a year of geological research, this is now the only known deposit throughout the entire Rocky Mountain range and North America. >> Continue reading

Peridot for Well Being
I love Peridot. Maybe because it is my birthstone. Peridot is the birthstone for August. But I didn’t always love it. I can remember as a kid getting the yellow green stone for my birthday and wishing my birthstone was more exciting, like maybe the rich color of purple Amethyst or bright shiny Diamond. It wasn’t until I was much older that my appreciation for Peridot took hold. Once I discovered its subtle energies I was won over.
Peridot has a long history of uses. The Egyptians made Peridot beads 2,500 years ago. It was also used to make rings and other jewelry. In Greece and Rome Peridot is considered a stone of royalty. Since ancient times Peridot was viewed as a symbol of the sun. Sometimes it was worn as a protection stone. Peridot was believed to bring wealth to the wearer.
For me these green gemstones represent pure positive feelings of well being. Whenever I am the slightest bit down if I hold or wear Peridot, I can feel my sense of well being return. This stone uplifts me. Its energies always bring a smile to my face and lightens my load. It is a bright sunny gemstone eager to assist. It is a stone that can warm and open the heart. We all feel better when we open our heart to all the goodness that exists. Its a reminder for me of all the good in my life.
