Spirals of Light is a gemstone jewelry company that I started in 1994. We specialize in Chakra jewelry, Yoga jewelry, Healing jewelry and sell high quality Crystals and Gemstones. I also teach classes on how to use crystals and gemstones in everyday life as well as offer consultations and crystal readings. Working with stones has been my passion for the past 20 years. I developed my chakra and yoga jewelry lines as a way to help me maintain my own yoga and meditation practice. I started this blog as a way to continue my exploration into the world of Crystals, Gemstones, Chakras, Yoga, Meditation & Spiritual Awakening. I hope you will join me in this discovery.

Peaceful Larimar
I received a massage yesterday. As I was laying on the massage table, feeling all the tight and tense spots my therapist was hitting I started remembering all the busyness I have been involved in over the past 2 months. Wow, it all came rushing past my mind. All the activity, all the doing, it was exhausting. This wasn’t what I wanted to be thinking about during my massage! Working with my breath to get past the soreness in my body, I began to relax more and more. I stayed focused on my breathing the same way I do during meditation, letting all the busyness float through my mind, instead of re- living it. Towards the end of the massage I really could feel a sense of peace within my body and my mind was much calmer. It felt so delicious. >> Continue reading

Focusing New Year’s intentions with Hematite
I’ve been giving many crystal readings this last week. The beginning of a New Year is a fantastic time to get a reading. One of the things I see coming up in these recent readings is the need for people to be grounded. When we are grounded we are able to focus our thoughts, desires, dreams and intentions. There is great power in our ability to create when we are focused. If you have set yourself a New Year’s resolution, but already feel it slipping past you, maybe you need to be more grounded and focused on your resolution/intention. Using the gemstone Hematite will offer you this grounding energy. When we’re not grounded we tend to be spacey, we can’t concentrate or focus attention for very long. Ring out the old, ring in the new!
End of the year Crystal ritual:
I’d like to share with you one of my favorite crystal rituals for saying good bye to the outgoing year and welcoming in the new year.
I find it very helpful to spend some time reflecting on the passing year. I start by asking myself questions.
What was my biggest success of the year?
What was my biggest upset?
What was the biggest surprise?
These kinds of questions allow me to take a good look at the positives and the negatives of the year.
As reflect back I can see things that no longer serve me, thoughts, fears, worries, disappoints that I may still be holding on to. I know that the time is now to let these thoughts go. Ido not choose to take this negativity into the new year. I can leave these fears behind and welcome in the new year with hope and renewal. >> Continue reading

Christmas Reflections
One of my favorite Christmas cards this year is a homemade card from one of my relatives. Made from cut construction paper and recycled Christmas wrap with stars creating a night sky, its love and beauty shines through.
It reminded me of times in the past when I did not have lots of money to spend at Christmas, and I too would make cards to send to my friends. Why have I gotten away from those heartfelt times? Now I can afford to go out and buy cards, always looking for a card to somehow reflect what Christmas means to me, this year I found a lovely mermaid placing a starfish on top of a tree, and while the card is cute, I can’t help but think, I could have created something much more in line with my current thinking.

Winter Solstice 2008
Happy Solstice!
Solstice is Sunday 12/21/08, 7:04 am EST.
I celebrate this longest night of the year by remembering that we have come through the darkest part of the year and now the light will be returning, yeah to longer days. Winter Solstice represents the dark but it also represents new beginnings and hope for the future. I will take some time out today to sit and reflect on the year passing. I will light a candle and as I light it I know that I am planting the seeds for the new year. What is it that I would like to welcome in to my life? What would I like to see manifest in 2009? Feeling like one of Santa’s Elves
I feel like one of Santa’s Elves,spending these December days in my work studio creating jewelry just as fast as I can, filling all the wonderful orders I am getting through my web site.I individually create each piece of jewelry, take its picture and post it on the web site.Then its on to processing the orders and shipping. Whew, it maybe time to hire some elves to help! I have a lot to be thankful for. With all this talk about the economy, I am especially thankful for all the orders I am getting. Sales are up this year! I have my abundance and prosperity stones all around me. Citrine is one of them. The necklace seen here is made with a beautiful citrine crystal pendant. Citrine is know as a stone of abundance.
I believe that it is at these difficult times in our lives that we especially need to have things around us that have meaning.
